Terms of Service

Terms of Service and content policy

Plain-language terms for ordering a custom Scrblbük book. Last updated October 27, 2026.

The short version. Copyrighted, trademarked or inappropriate photos violate our Terms of Service and will not be printed. Upload only photos you took, or have permission to use. A person reviews every submission, and we may refuse any photo or order.

1. Who we are

Scrblbük is a custom coloring & activity book business run by partners Joshua Mooney and JP Mackay in Tennessee. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Scrblbük, and "you" means the person submitting an order or request. Questions: [email protected].

2. What we do

You tell us about a place and send photos. We turn them into a custom coloring & activity book with coloring pages of your place, local scenes and facts, and puzzles. Submitting the "Design your own book" form is a request, not a purchase. Nothing is charged when you submit. We email you a watermarked preview first.

3. Your photos

  • Upload only photos that you took yourself or that you have the right to use for this purpose.
  • You confirm this each time you submit, by ticking the photo rights box.
  • You keep ownership of your photos. You give us permission to store them, review them, and use them as references to make your preview and book, and to show you the results.
  • We do not sell your photos or use them to promote other businesses. We may show finished pages in our own marketing only if you agree to that in writing.
  • Uploaded photos are automatically deleted from our storage 180 days after upload. You can ask us to delete them sooner by email.

4. Content policy

We will not print, and may remove from your order, photos or text that are any of the following:

  • Copyrighted by someone else. This includes photos taken by a photographer, agency or website, listing photos you do not own, artwork, murals or posters shown prominently, and images of characters from movies, shows, games or books.
  • Trademarked. This includes brand logos, product packaging, business signs or names you do not own, and team or school marks.
  • Inappropriate. This includes nudity or sexual content, graphic violence or gore, hateful or harassing content, illegal activity, and anything not suitable for a children's coloring book.
  • Private or identifying. Photos of people who have not agreed to appear, and photos that show a child's face or full name without a parent's or guardian's permission.

Ordinary background items, such as a branded appliance in a kitchen, are usually fine, because we draw our own simplified illustrations. We may leave out or redraw anything that could be a problem.

5. Review, refusal and removal

  • A person at Scrblbük reviews each submission and the photos before a preview is made.
  • We may refuse, remove or ask you to replace any photo, and we may decline any order, at our discretion. We will tell you by email.
  • If we decline an order you have already paid for, we will refund it in full.
  • If a photo is found to break these terms after a preview or print, we may stop work and cancel the order. We are not responsible for any resulting delay.

6. Previews, approval and payment

  • Your preview is watermarked and low resolution. It is for your review only. Please do not copy, share or reproduce it.
  • The price and shipping for your order are shown to you before you pay. You are only charged after you approve the preview and pay.
  • Books are made to order from the preview you approve. Because each book is personalized, we cannot accept returns for change of mind.
  • If your book arrives damaged, misprinted or does not match the approved preview, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we will reprint it or refund you.

7. Accuracy

We draw our local history, facts and landmarks from sources we review. We work to get them right, but we cannot promise that every detail is complete or error-free. Tell us if you spot a mistake and we will fix it in reprints.

8. Our work and name

The Scrblbük name, our designs and our sample books belong to us. You may not copy them. The finished pages we make from your photos are yours to use for your own enjoyment, and for your guests if your book is for a rental or home. You may not resell the books without our written agreement.

9. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be waived.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will post the new date at the top. The version you accepted when you submitted your order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee.
